Organization of the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2025 in Paris

What is this event?

The Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championships is the event that crowns the best duelists in the world. Organized by Konami for the first time in Paris, this championship takes place every year on different continents. It brings together champions from multiple formats, including the Trading Card Game (TCG), Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL, Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS (Speed Duel), and Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel. It is the ultimate gathering where players, who have qualified throughout the year, compete for the world title

What have been the different locations of the event?

The 2025 Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championships made history by taking place in three iconic locations in Paris, turning the capital into a true sanctuary for duelists from around the world.

The Competition: La Maison de la Mutualité

At the heart of the action, La Maison de la Mutualité pulsed with the rhythm of the duels. It was in this exceptional venue that the best players faced off on Saturday, August 30, and Sunday, August 31, 2025. Each day, an audience of 1,000 people witnessed a show lasting over five hours. The experience was heightened by grand opening ceremonies:

  • On Saturday, a philharmonic orchestra performed live renditions of the most famous Yu-Gi-Oh! themes.
  • On Sunday, a spectacular choreography celebrated the anime universe, igniting an already electrified hall.

The Fan Zone: Le Collège des Bernardins

Le Collège des Bernardins, with its magnificent vaulted hall, served as a gathering point for fans. This venue hosted the ‘Public Events,’ open tournaments that welcomed up to 500 players per day, as well as exclusive shops offering unique products specially designed for the event. It was the perfect place for duelists who had not qualified for the main competition to compete against each other and get their hands on collectible items.

Throughout the event, over 8,000 visitors came to admire unique artworks, showcasing the richness and creativity of the franchise. This venue provided a space for exploration and reflection, enhancing the fans’ experience far beyond the duels.
